the workshop center for "project ranthambore" is set in "kutalpura" village, the center is called "kendra"by all, which actually is hindi/sanskrit for "center". parts of the village are still like indian villages from past, mud houses with thatched roofs. the difference is that only the very poor now have mud houses, so its not possible now to find a mud house which is not associated with poverty. this is unlike before when even the families who had an ok living(from the village's standards) would have a reasonable house - made of mud and thatch.
jagni from the "kendra" gave me a short tour of kutalpura one of the afternoons, here are some pictures.
there are many pictures which are of closed front doors. i hope to visit the village again sometime with devika and step inside these doors when they open for me.
