this "rumal" was no "rumal" as we know it! this was at least 5ft x 5ft square with some amazing embroidery all over it. in the following pics what seems like a painted fabric is actually embriodered, the fabric was beige in its base color, so you can imagine how dense and fine the embruidery is(zooming in gives some idea).

her posture is so similar to the "dancing girl" from harappa, its amazing how deep rooted indian classical art is.

shiva and parvati are so often depicted where shiva holds parvati in a not-so-subtle sexy way. they must be the eternal lovers. thank you shiva-parvati.
