everything in this painting is awesome, style, composition, color...beautiful

this "rumal" was no "rumal" as we know it! this was at least 5ft x 5ft square with some amazing embroidery all over it. in the following pics what seems like a painted fabric is actually embriodered, the fabric was beige in its base color, so you can imagine how dense and fine the embruidery is(zooming in gives some idea).

her posture is so similar to the "dancing girl" from harappa, its amazing how deep rooted indian classical art is.

shiva and parvati are so often depicted where shiva holds parvati in a not-so-subtle sexy way. they must be the eternal lovers. thank you shiva-parvati.

8 Sessions Course

I am Rachna, a photographer specializing in natural portraits and fine art images. To share my experience and knowledge I also teach photography to adults at Art House, Whitefield. 


I am starting a new batch for my "Photography - Level 1" course, the timings of which is especially targeted for working people. This will be an 8 session course, twice a week, with each session of about 2 hours. These classes will start in first week of September and will be held at Hotel Seven, Outer Ring Road. Here is a summary of the course,


This is an 8 session course designed to cover the technical as well as creative aspects of photography with an emphasis on hands on exercises, ongoing reviews and critiques of work done during the course to ensure better learning. Since it is spread over a duration of 8 sessions, participants get more time to practice and experiment.


Main topics:
*   Technical concepts of camera like aperture, speed, metering, lenses etc
*   Creative aspects like composition of visual elements, exposure, perspective, depth of field etc
*   Other aspects like basics of enhancement/finishing the photographs using software, presentation skills etc.


You can bring any camera. The 8 sessions will be spread over 4 weeks, each week there will be one session on Saturdays 2pm to 4pm and one on Sundays 10am to 12pm.


The batch size is restricted to max 8 persons for better one-on-one interaction. The cost for this course is Rs.4000/-
